When the Wind Turns East

Misk Institute, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, December - January 2026

When the Wind Turns East unfolds as a contemporary journey between two ancient worlds — China and Saudi Arabia — where the threads of memory, nature, and imagination intertwine. The exhibition was presented as part of the second edition of the Common Ground Festival, the annual cultural initiative organized by the Ministry of Culture of Saudi Arabia and produced by Benchmark. Taking place until 6 January 2026 at Malfa Hall, Misk City, Riyadh, this edition celebrates the 2025 Saudi/Chinese Cultural Year and marks 35 years of diplomatic relations between Saudi Arabia and China.

As part of this important framework, the Sigg Art Foundation presented When the Wind Turns East, a landmark exhibition curated in collaboration with Jérôme Sans, bringing together works by over 60 contemporary artists from Saudi Arabia and China.
